Want To Succeed? Stay Busy!!

As I’ve said before a 100 times before planning is key. Also acknowledging weaknesses. And being realistic and knowing that you’re human!

So let’s just admit cravings are gonna happen. Same with moments of weakness. Plan for them! Come up with ideas of how to distract yourself when cravings occur. Or when you know they are going to occur- i.e. for some people it might be a certain time of day.

Cravings tend to come in waves. They can get really strong but tend to pass. And being able to focus on something else really helps to get through them.

Personally I get really strong cravings as soon as I start eating. I just want to eat and eat, and I can eat a lot! Even when I have a decent sized portion- if I’m on a cut/diet/running a deficit- as soon as I’ve finished eating (because it’s never enough food) I want more. Sometimes the desire is just something sweet. So at this time I need a distraction (and many other times as well). What do I do? I walk, take a bath, or go to the gym. All for different reasons and they all help. So come up with your own!

FYI when I walk I get a chance to get away from the fridge, get some fresh air and clear my head. I tend to walk a lot and sometimes lose hours just walking and thinking. It’s great for planning, or just getting some exercise! When I take a bath I make the water really hot, close my eyes and relax. I tend to escape that way as well and my cravings usually disappear pretty quickly. Plus it feels great- especially if you have been working out! The gym is an obvious one. And it’s really hard to stay hungry when you’re working out and being around others working out. That’s a great time to focus on what you want, acknowledge you are there, and then when you are done you’ll most likely deserve a meal!
