STARTING OUT
If you’re starting a new diet or fitness routine- don’t be intimidated!! One of the first parts of your journey is being confident in your decision to make positive changes in your life. When you begin your research about how to make these change- by reading articles and watching videos on sites like youtube- it’s easy to get overwhelmed! There’s so much information out there. So many theories, opinions and frankly, misinformation. And to make matters worse, much of it is contradictory. You’ll find one site, study or person recommending one thing and then studies, people and articles that advise against the exact same thing! Then getting advice from bodybuilders, models, competitors, coaches and athletes can also be scary! ‘That person doesn’t look like me’. ‘They have probably never struggled with food or exercise’. ‘They have an unfair advantage. They’ve been doing this for years’. ‘They were probably athletes in school’. None of this may be far off or untrue. But it doesn’t mean you can’t succeed yourself with whatever your goal is.
How do I take all of this info in? Where do I start? You start by making some decisions. You start by deciding what you want and what’s important to you. Sit down. Plan. Go internal. Dig. Be honest with yourself. Write things down. Get advice. Then jump… but put some work in first. Getting ‘healthy’, losing weight or gaining muscle- whatever the goal is- it’s work. It’s hard. No matter what there will be sacrifices. It won’t be easy. After you’ve been through all this- then the journey begins!!!
